The Illinois Vest-a-Dog Program
On August 13th 2008 Tracy Hykla was honored to represent
The Alex Foundation in accepting a donation to the
Illinois Vest-a-Dog Program
This program accepts donations to purchase a vest that
will protect K-9 dogs from being injured in the line of duty.
The vests are bullet and knife proof.
This vest was presented to "Jack" the Belgian Malinois
and his handler Northbrook Police Officer, Jonathan Salmi
in memory of Alex
by
Dr. Julia Weertman a long time friend of
Dr. Irene Pepperberg

Presenting the certificate is Lee Harrison,
Lee is the president and founder of the program.
Local news affiliates were also present.
